Snap.Do is a browser extension/toolbar compatible with major web browsers, including Internet Explorer, Chrome, and Firefox. This addin offers standard toolbar features such as social media integration for platforms like Facebook and Twitter, along with recommendations powered by the SimularSites engine. Upon installation, it will modify the browser's home page and search providers, and these changes will not be reset upon removal. Snap.Do also collects user data related to web browsing habits. In Internet Explorer, the Snap.Do Smartbar functions as both a toolbar and a BHO (browser helper object). Smartbar can be manually downloaded from the snap.do website, but it has also been observed bundled with third-party installers, such as Open Candy. The software includes a browser toolbar that provides access to search, social networking sites, streaming radio, a screen capture app, and a PDF creation tool. It should be noted that Snap.Do Search is set as the homepage, search default, and new tab upon installation.
