The VisualBee Toolbar is a browser add-on developed by Conduit, which integrates with popular web browsers such as Internet Explorer, Chrome, and Firefox. This toolbar displays advertisements and may modify the browser's homepage and search settings in order to gather usage data. Typically, the toolbar is bundled with third-party software to generate revenue. During installation, users are often presented with the option to adjust the homepage and search settings, but this is usually pre-selected and easily overlooked. If the software is uninstalled, the settings will need to be manually restored. According to the End User License Agreement (EULA), Conduit is authorized to automatically download and install remote updates, as well as collect and store information about the user's web browsing activities locally on the computer. This data is used to provide targeted advertising and suggest additional services. The EULA states, "By using Conduit software, you may enable Conduit to access, use, and collect a variety of information, both personal and non-personal, regarding your Internet Browser, your browsing habits, and information about your computer."
