Nerds On Call Support is a LogMeIn branded software application designed for remote computer support and access. With its proprietary remote desktop protocol transmitted via SSL, Connect to Nerds On Call is able to deliver efficient customer support services from a remote location. It facilitates a secure connection between the remote desktop and the local computer using SSL over TCP or UDP, and employs NAT traversal techniques to establish peer-to-peer connectivity where possible. The web portal is compatible with Internet Explorer and requires the installation of an ActiveX plugin, as well as with Firefox and Safari, for which LogMeIn offers dedicated browser extensions. In the absence of these options, the software can also support Java programs and "a screen-shot-based HTML remote control" for remote access.
