MagniPic

MagniPic is an adware browser application that inserts banner and contextual link ads into web pages. It is compatible with web browser plugins for Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome, and can display ads on any website, regardless of affiliation with the publisher. Users may encounter up to 10 in-text ads, four banner ads, and/or a transitional ad on web pages. The software is often bundled with third-party download managers that use deceptive advertising tactics to install the application. In addition to displaying ads, MagniPic can modify browser settings, including lowering security settings, changing the home page, and altering the search provider, a practice known as web browser hijacking. The application also sends analytics back to a controlling server, reporting user internet behavior, visited URLs and domains, and ad interactions. MagniPic is frequently bundled with other potentially unwanted programs within third-party download managers.
