This browser extension, distributed by the WebPick (InstalleRex) download and install manager, is an adware program. It integrates with various adware offer bundles and operates as a cross-browser extension that includes a Windows service, an auto-starting component, and a browser toolbar/plugin. Its primary function is to inject advertisements, such as banner ads, hyper-text links, and pop-ups, into the browser. Furthermore, certain versions may override existing website advertising and add affiliate codes to links as coupon offers. Once installed, this program creates a folder with a random name in either the Program Files or ProgramData directory, with each included file also having a randomly generated name. The displayed advertisements can encompass deceptive malvertising ads for 'required' updates of common programs and unwanted pop-ups. Additionally, the installation of this program can introduce bundled adware utilities and extra browser extensions. It is important to note that components of the program have the ability to adjust the browser's default security settings.
