It is commonly bundled with adware offers and functions as a cross-browser extension with various components, including a Windows service, an auto-starting feature, and a browser toolbar/plugin. Its primary purpose is to inject advertisements into the browser, such as banner ads, hyper-text links, pop-ups, and affiliate codes. The program typically installs itself in a randomly named folder within Program Files or ProgramData, with its included files also bearing random generated names. Some versions of the program may manipulate existing advertising on websites and inject affiliate codes as coupon offers. The displayed advertisements may include deceptive malvertising ads for alleged updates of common programs, as well as unwanted pop-up ads. If downloaded, these programs also install bundled adware utilities and additional browser extensions, and may modify the browser's default security settings.
