Avira SearchFree Toolbar

The Avira SearchFree Toolbar is a feature included in most versions of the Free Avira AntiVirus product. Upon installation, users will be prompted by the OfferCast application to install the toolbar, which aims to provide safe web browsing and searching capabilities. The Avira SearchFree Toolbar is bundled with the Ask.com internet browser toolbar and is designed to keep it automatically updated. It is installed as part of bundled software, and default settings will automatically install the toolbar alongside the host bundler software on the user's PC. It is important to note that the Avira SearchFree Toolbar may leave behind files, settings, and registry entries upon uninstallation, which could potentially cause stability and performance issues. Furthermore, the toolbar sets and maintains Ask.com as the default search provider, as well as the browser homepage and new tabs page. These settings are protected through a background process that monitors for changes and resets the search and homepage back to Ask.com if any alterations are detected. Please keep in mind that removal of the Avira SearchFree Toolbar may not be possible even after uninstalling the associated program that bundled it.
