HomeTab

HomeTab is a browser extension and toolbar that customizes the search and home pages of web browsers while delivering context-based advertising. It currently supports Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome. The software is designed to modify the search provider in order to generate search advertising revenue while also protecting it as the default browser search engine. It is typically installed through a co-bundled offer within third-party software distribution. Key features of HomeTab include the ability to change the new tab page, default search engine, and homepage of any supported browser. Additionally, it can install browser add-ons, plugins, and widgets, as well as set desktop icons on the wallpaper and install mobile applications on devices. Per the End User License Agreement (EULA), Widdit, the company behind HomeTab, may install additional software bundled with the HomeTab Software and add features that automate installations of HomeTab on connected devices. HomeTab/Widdit is affiliated with the PUPs Simply Tech Ltd and One Floor Apps and is now distributed by both organizations.
