For models with a DVD write function, it is possible to utilize a variety of recordable DVD formats to create a recovery DVD, with the exception of DVD-RAM. Similarly, models equipped with a CD write function can employ recordable CDs to generate a recovery CD, utilizing either 650 MB or 700 MB CDs for data recording. In situations where the model lacks an internal ODD drive, USB flash memory can be used to create recovery media.
