Synergy is a sophisticated software application designed to seamlessly share a single keyboard and mouse across multiple computers. It caters to scenarios where several PCs are utilized concurrently with individual monitors but controlled by a single user using only one set of keyboard and mouse, akin to a KVM switch without the video component. Once the program is installed, users can effortlessly transition the mouse from one desktop to another by moving it to the edge of the screen, seamlessly navigating and controlling the connected computers. Synergy offers synchronized clipboard functionality and can even synchronize screensavers, enabling users to manage multiple machines as if they were operating a single, extensive multi-monitor computer setup. Mouse and keyboard events, as well as clipboard data, are communicated between the connected computers using TCP/IP, by default on port 24800. It is important to note that the communications are not encrypted, so it's essential to ensure network security, as key presses, mouse movements, and clipboard contents can potentially be intercepted via network traffic.
