About SweetPacks Updater Service?
The IBUpdaterService, included with the installation of the SweetIM Toolbar and SweetPacks (by Perion), is a mandatory program designed to update and maintain the toolbar installation. This service runs the dmwu.exe process as a Windows Service, set to autostart and installed by default in the user's System directory. Additionally, dmwu.exe adds a Windows firewall exception and listens on various UDP ports. During the uninstallation process, the uninstaller requires the user to manually enter a captcha in order to prevent automated removal. As stated in the End User License Agreement (EULA), the installation process of the Software offers the option to set the Company’s search service as the default search service and to set the Company’s search service web page as the home page. If accepted, the Software installation program will change the browser's home page and/or default search service to the Company’s search service based on the user's preferences.
