Avanquest Toolbar

Avanquest Toolbar is a browser add-on created by Conduit that integrates with popular web browsers including IE, Chrome, and Firefox. This toolbar is supported by advertisements and is designed to showcase ads within the toolbar itself while also modifying the browser's home page and search settings to gather usage statistics. It is commonly bundled with third-party developer programs as a means of monetizing free (and some paid) software. During installation, users are typically presented with the option to modify their home and search pages, although this is often pre-selected and ignored. If the software is uninstalled from the user's computer, the settings will need to be manually restored. According to the End User License Agreement (EULA), the company is authorized to automatically download and install remote updates and gather and store details about the user's web browsing activities on the local PC in order to engage with the toolbar application and recommend additional services or provide targeted advertising. The license agreement also states, "By Using a Conduit Software you may enable Conduit to access, use and collect a variety of information, both personal and non-personal, regarding your Internet Browser, your browsing habits, and information about your computer".
