Borland Data Engine

The Borland Database Engine (BDE) is a core database engine and connectivity software designed for Windows-based applications such as Borland Delphi, C++Builder, IntraBuilder, Paradox for Windows, and Visual dBASE for Windows. The software includes a comprehensive set of database drivers that allow for consistent access to standard data sources, including Paradox, dBASE, FoxPro, Access, and text databases. Additionally, users have the option to add Microsoft ODBC drivers to the built-in ODBC socket as needed. For those requiring access to a wider range of database management systems (DBMS), Borland's SQL Links product is available as an optional add-on, providing access to systems such as Informix, DB2, InterBase, Oracle, and Sybase.
