Terraria

Terraria is an indie action-adventure/RPG game developed by Re-Logic and is available for purchase on the Steam Store. The game offers players the chance to explore, craft, build, and engage in combat with a variety of creatures in a dynamically generated 2-D world. Gameplay includes day and night cycles, nocturnal and subterranean threats, world-building elements, and character progression. The game features a tile-based graphical style reminiscent of 16-bit sprites from the SNES era. Upon character creation, players start equipped with a copper axe, a copper pickaxe, and a copper shortsword, and begin with 100 health. Upon spawning in a new world, the Guide NPC is present to provide basic gameplay explanations. Players can choose from three character difficulties: Softcore, Mediumcore, and Hardcore, each with varying death penalties. In Softcore, characters drop half of their coins upon death, while Mediumcore characters drop all items including coins and ammo. Hardcore characters die permanently, dropping all items and becoming ghosts, incapable of altering the world. Notably, when a player on Hardcore difficulty dies, their character is deleted.
