Windows Live OneCare safety scanner

The Windows Live OneCare Safety Scanner was a web-based scanning, PC cleanup, and diagnosis platform designed to identify and remove viruses, spyware/adware, and other forms of malware. This service was integrated into the Windows Live suite and offered free online scanning and protection from threats. Users were required to download and install the application in order to conduct a comprehensive "Full Service Scan" that addressed common PC health issues such as viruses, temporary files, and open network ports. This process effectively removed viruses, improved computer performance, and eliminated unnecessary clutter from the hard disk. Users could select between a customizable "Full Scan" or a faster "Quick Scan" option. In addition to scanning and cleanup capabilities, the service provided a virus database, information on online threats, and general computer security documentation and tools.
