About Microsoft ActiveSync?
ActiveSync is a software application that enables mobile devices to synchronize with a desktop PC or a server running compatible software, such as Microsoft Exchange Server. When used with a desktop, ActiveSync synchronizes emails, calendar, contacts, and tasks with Microsoft Outlook, as well as Internet bookmarks and files. It should be noted that ActiveSync does not support all features of Outlook, and it may not transfer contacts grouped into subfolders. Only contacts not in subfolders are synchronized. When used with Exchange Server, ActiveSync can synchronize emails, calendar, contacts, and tasks. Additionally, ActiveSync allows for manual file transfer to a mobile device, limited backup functionality, and the ability to install and uninstall mobile device applications.
