TopDeal is a web browser extension developed by JustPlug.It and distributed through the WebPick InstalleRex download and install manager. It is commonly bundled with adware offers and operates across multiple browsers, utilizing various components including a Windows service, auto-starting feature, and toolbar/plugin designed to inject advertisements such as banner ads, hyper-text links, and pop-ups into the browser. Some versions may also hijack existing website advertising and inject affiliate codes as coupon offers. During installation, the program will install itself in a randomly named folder within Program Files or ProgramData, with each file also having a randomly generated name. The Windows Service runs with full administrator rights and connects to remote servers for updates, as well as creating a local server that listens for TCP network requests. The displayed advertisements may include deceptive malvertising ads for program updates and unwanted pop-ups, leading to the installation of bundled adware and additional browser extensions. Furthermore, components of the program may modify the browser's default security levels.
