CS Browser Assistant

The Browser Assistant software is a web browser adware application that operates as both a toolbar and web extension. The primary purpose of the web extension is to assert control over the user's browser by modifying the search provider and redirecting web searches to the publisher's partner search engine, with whom they have a revenue relationship. This toolbar is designed to maximize user interaction with sponsored advertising through search. Typically, it is installed via bundled offers within third-party distributions. The toolbar's functionality includes, but is not limited to, changing the web browser's default home page to the affiliate search portal, modifying the browser's search provider, built-in search box, and address bar, and altering the 'new tab' functionality to launch the modified search portal page. Additionally, it adds alternative error pages, DNS error and 'page not found' functionality, and provides additional protection for search and home page settings. There is also the potential for the software to inject advertising in the form of context ads, links, and pop-ups.
