Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is an action role-playing video game with a cyberpunk theme developed by Eidos Montreal and published by Square Enix, who also handled the production of the game's CGI sequences. The game is set in 2027, 25 years before the events of the first game in the series, and takes place at a time when multinational corporations have gained unprecedented power, surpassing the influence of national governments. The player assumes the role of Adam Jensen, the newly-appointed security director at Sarif Industries, a rapidly growing biotechnology firm. Following a brutal terrorist attack on the company's headquarters in Detroit, Jensen is critically injured and must undergo extensive life-saving surgeries that result in the replacement of much of his body with advanced prosthetics. As he returns to work, Jensen becomes embroiled in the global politics of the human enhancement movement while searching for the culprits behind the assault. The game tackles various themes, including the ascendancy of corporations in a globalized world, espionage, human survival, poverty, and the ethical considerations surrounding the advancement of humans through artificial body part replacements.
