About Express Gate?
Express Gate (originally known as Splashtop) is a remote desktop software solution designed to enable users to access and manage their computer from a mobile device, such as an iPad, iPhone, webOS, or Android device. Originally developed as an instant-on commercial Linux distribution, Splashtop was intended to be integrated into read-only devices and shipped with hardware, rather than being user-installed. While it did not prevent the installation of alternative operating systems for dual booting, the software aimed to provide quick and efficient remote desktop capabilities. ASUS was the first OEM partner for the original Splashtop, with their joint product being Express Gate. Subsequently, other computer manufacturers also integrated Splashtop into their products under different branding names.
