Web Saver is a software application that may be considered unwanted by some users. It operates as a toolbar and web extension within the user's web browser. The primary purpose of the web extension is to alter the user's browsing experience by changing the search provider and redirecting web searches to the publisher's affiliated search engine in order to generate revenue. The toolbar's features include the potential to display contextual advertisements in the form of ads, links, and pop-ups. It can also reset the web browser's default home page to the publisher's search portal and modify the browser's search provider, built-in search box, and address bar. Additionally, the toolbar has the capability to change the functionality of the browser's new tab to launch the modified search portal page. It may also add alternative error pages and additional functionality geared towards protecting the search and home page settings.
