Mapit 1 Toolbar

Mapit 1 Toolbar is a web browser add-on developed by Conduit, intended for use with popular browsers such as Internet Explorer, Chrome, and Firefox. As a software supported by advertising, the toolbar is designed to showcase advertisements within its interface, and may modify the browser's homepage and search settings to gather user activity data. Often bundled with third-party applications, Mapit 1 Toolbar assists in generating revenue for both free and some paid software. During installation, users may be prompted to adjust the homepage and search settings, however, these options are typically preselected and easily overlooked. Removal of the software will require manual resetting of the browser settings. In compliance with the End User License Agreement (EULA), the company may automate remote updates and gather information on the user's internet browsing activities, storing this data locally on the user's computer to facilitate targeted advertising and present additional services through the toolbar. The license agreement states, "By Using a Conduit Software you may enable Conduit to access, use and collect a variety of information, both personal and non-personal, regarding your Internet Browser, your browsing habits, and information about your computer."
