BittorrentBar_DE Toolbar is a 'Community Toolbar' developed by Conduit, designed to integrate with web browsers such as IE, Chrome, and Firefox. This toolbar serves as an advertising-supported program that displays ads within the bar and can modify the browser's home page and search settings to gather usage statistics. It is commonly bundled with third-party developer programs to enhance the monetization of free (and some paid) software. During installation, users may be prompted to modify the home and search pages, although these options are typically pre-selected and may be overlooked by users. If the toolbar is uninstalled, the user will need to manually revert the modified settings. As per the End User License Agreement (EULA), the company reserves the rights to automatically download and install remote updates, as well as collect and store details about the user's web browsing activities locally on the PC to interact with the toolbar application for suggesting additional services or targeted advertising.
