FLV Toolbar is a browser extension developed by Conduit that integrates with popular web browsers such as Internet Explorer, Chrome, and Firefox. This toolbar serves as an advertising-supported program, displaying ads within the toolbar and making modifications to the browser's home page and search settings to gather usage statistics. It is commonly bundled with third-party software to generate revenue. During installation, users may be presented with the option to modify their home and search pages, but these changes are often pre-selected and may go unnoticed. If the software is uninstalled, the browser settings will need to be manually restored. According to the End User License Agreement (EULA), Conduit has the capability to automatically download and install remote updates, as well as collect and store information about the user's web browsing activities locally on the computer. This data is then used to interact with the toolbar application, offering additional services and personalized advertising. In accordance with the license agreement, the usage of Conduit software grants the company access to a range of personal and non-personal information related to the user's internet browser, browsing habits, and computer details.
