Just Cause 2

Just Cause 2 is an open-world action-adventure video game developed by Avalanche Studios and published by Eidos Interactive. The game utilizes the Avalanche Engine 2.0, an updated version of the engine used in the original Just Cause. Set in the fictional island of Panau, located in Southeast Asia and covering 400 square miles of land, players are free to roam the open world without being constrained by the game's storyline. Progression in the game is measured using Chaos, which is earned by completing missions, destroying government property, collecting items for factions, and achieving 100% completion in settlements and military bases. Chaos unlocks new agency missions and stronghold takeovers, which in turn expand the factions' area of influence, unlocking faction missions and race challenges. The game's artificial intelligence employs a planning system, allowing enemies to perform various actions, including utilizing the environment for cover and adapting to their surroundings. Just Cause 2 also features vertical gameplay using a grappling hook and parachuting maneuvers, as well as a manual aiming system to enhance the player's experience.
