Guitar Pro

Guitar Pro is a comprehensive software tool for musicians and guitarists that offers a multitrack editor for guitar and bass tablature and musical scores. It features a built-in MIDI-editor, chord plotter, player, and metronome, among other useful tools. Developed by Arobas Music, a French company, Guitar Pro is compatible with Windows, Mac OS X (Intel processors only), and Linux operating systems. The software creates files in GPX, GP5, GP4, and GP3 formats, which correspond to versions 6, 5, 4, and 3 of the program. It's important to note that these file formats lack backwards compatibility, and attempting to open them in an older version of Guitar Pro will prompt the user to upgrade to the respective version. Although tab files created with Guitar Pro were once widely available for free on various websites, copyright issues raised by the Music Publishers' Association (MPA) resulted in the closure of some of these sites. Consequently, access to tabs may be more limited than in previous years.
