Altiris Deployment Agent, developed by Altiris, is a software program that seamlessly integrates into Windows operating systems, creating a startup registration point to ensure automatic startup upon booting the PC. Additionally, it adds a Windows Service that runs continuously in the background, enhancing the program's functionality. The included background controller service is set to automatically run, and the software is equipped with the capability to connect to the Internet, establishing a Windows Firewall exception to avoid interference. The primary executable file, named dagentui.exe, along with a selection of approximately 15 additional files, comprises the installation package, with a typical size of 7.39 MB (7,753,049 bytes). Notable within the package is the autoupdate.dll, which serves as the auto-update component of the software, actively checking for and applying updates when new versions are detected.
