Vid-Saver is a video download utility that enables users to download streaming files, such as those from YouTube, to their local hard drive for playback in the Vid-Saver player or other compatible players. The Vid-Saver Extension is a web browser plugin that provides users with coupon deals and additional advertisements when visiting various online shopping sites. It alerts users to alternative deals or prices when a pre-arranged affiliate relationship exists with a similar merchant, or displays adverts in other cases. While the Vid-Saver Extension offers these features, it has been flagged by some anti-malware programs as adware or a potentially unwanted program. The extension has been known to inject ads and affiliate codes into product links directly by modifying the HTML content of web pages. It also displays non-embedded pop-up advertisements that are not attributed to the program, making it adware. Users should be cautious as it is commonly included in various 3rd party software bundles. It is important to note that this program is considered to be very aggressive adware, as it hijacks the user's browser and settings, and injects its own advertising over website ads, including Adsense. As a result, the program has been observed to adversely affect PC performance while the loaded web browser is running. We recommend considering the removal of this program.
